I want to be the 10th Doctor for Halloween but I need a screwdriver. Do you have instructions on how to do this? If its that "link" in the description it's not working. Thanks for any help you can provide! (:
I'll be glad to help. The link is not up yet. It wasn't for instructions or anything, I'm just trying to find a way to merge all the stuff I do on tumblr to here and it's all a mess. Half of my photos/links aren't up yet. Lots of times I write more things on tumblr than on here so that's why I'm trying to connect them.
As for how I made it. If you read in the comments below I talked a bit about it with someone else. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
I'd make another one and take pictures and put up an instructable but since I moved countries a few months ago, my things are just all over the place and I just don't have the time or space. I don't even know where this screwdriver ended up.
You mean the lights and stuff? I used one of those pens that has a laser pointer and a light at the end. Like this: [link] The pen part slides off and you're left with the top half of the pen that houses all the lighting and batteries. That scratched coppery part in the middle unscrews and you slip the batteries in. I took a metal cylindrical shaft from a pencil that just happened to be the perfect fit for the bottom of that scratched coppery piece and glued it on, that's what the thinner part of the screwdriver is. The rest I improvised out of random stuff I keep and collect and I had to cover the lights at the top so I wouldn't get in trouble for having a laser pointer at school. I still haven't figured out how to add sound, I might work on that in the future.
